Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) has released a Request for Information (RFI) to update the methodology and administration of the Healthy Chicago Survey (HCS).

CDPH’s goal for the HCS continues to be to collect reliable, timely and representative data on root causes, health behaviors and health outcomes from adults living in the City of Chicago to enable residents and other stakeholders to use the data to describe and take action towards improving health and health equity.

This RFI is being issued by CDPH has part of its continued efforts to enhance the HCS methodology, questionnaire design, participant outreach, administration and dissemination strategies by partnering with communities and organizations across all areas of expertise. To this end, CDPH is seeking responses from a variety of organizations, including community-based organizations, survey administrators, researchers, data scientists, communications experts and any other with related expertise.

TRAUMA AND HEALING

An after-school conversational workshop hosted at the Men of Valor mentor meeting.  Through shared experiences, we will explore ideas of how to support youth and community members in strengthening resilience and flourishing in the midst of trauma, adversity and toxic stress.

The Chicago Department of Public Health respects and appreciates our differences and affirms our range of experiences, values, traumas, and strengths. We work to constantly improve our cultural competence and seek out underrepresented views.  CDPH participated in a 2-day learning experience to analyze the structures of power and privilege that hinder social equity and prepare the department to be effective organizers for justice. The workshop was facilitated by the People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond.stress.
